Textures and Painted Details with Raster Prints
At Plumager®, we love to experiment and combine techniques to create the perfect print! Practically any look can be achieved, but the right program and tools need to be used! For textures, watercolor effects, and painterly details, you need a raster based print!
Raster artwork is pixel-based, so it can contain intricate textures and soft gradients that are not possible in vector artwork.
Artwork created from traditional materials is easily set up for production with indexing. Full color artwork is reduced down to a limited number of colors. Each color represents a screen or roller in mass production. Premixed ink will be pulled through each to ensure a perfect color match. Made up of small pixels, indexing holds small details and textured that are not possible in vector graphics.
Use Color Table to Apply a Color Standard.
Edit your raster print in Adobe Photoshop or a comparable program. Most Plumager® raster based prints come with the original layered file for easy editing.
Choose a raster based print when you want that soft, painterly look.
*An indexed tiff file is included with all Plumager® prints unless otherwise noted, including vector based prints. If your printer requires an indexed tiff, you are ready to go!
